Native plants provide a plethora of ecosystem services, such as wildlife forage and habitat, reduced flooding, better air quality, cooler temperatures, and more! Join this session to discover the tools and practices community members can use to revitalize vacant spaces in a neighborhood-centric way.

AISHA MUHAMMAD – MDC COMMUNITY CONSERVATION LIASON

Aisha Muhammad is the Community Conservation Liaison for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). She's always had a passion for biology and the natural world, so at an early age, she chose to turn her passion into her career. Aisha has a BA in biology with an emphasis in ecology from the Missouri University of Science & Technology and has worked with MDC since 2021.

In her role at MDC, Aisha focuses on equitably connecting communities to nature. She provides technical and fiscal assistance to community projects, organizes trainings and community events, collaborates with partners on green workforce development, and much more. She's a firm believer that quality access to nature improves the quality of life overall.
